Our Mission
Rescuing and rehabilitating stray, shelter and community cats
Thistle Cat Rescue & Sanctuary exists to save cats with nowhere else to turn. We fight for those needing intensive medical and behavioral rehabilitation and provide a rural, protected indoor-outdoor sanctuary or placement in permanent loving homes where cats can finally live with freedom, safety and dignity.
Their tomorrow, secured by you today.
At Thistle Cat Sanctuary, we offer a unique forever-sanctuary program for guardians who wish to include their cats in their final plans. Through thoughtful estate planning, cats can be entrusted to Thistle Cat, where we honor those wishes by providing a safe, loving, indoor home environment with access to a secure, protected outdoor space.
Each cat is welcomed as an individual, surrounded by comfort, enrichment, and compassionate care for the rest of their life. Planning ahead ensures that your cats will never face uncertainty. It’s our promise to honor your bond and provide lifelong care when you no longer can.

Real Stories. Real Impact.
These are just a few of the lives transformed through medical care and loving homes made possible by your support.

Gus Gus
Gus Gus was found living in a homeless encampment, where he wasn’t safe from people who didn’t want him there. Severe ear mites left him with permanent cauliflower ear, and painful entropion required surgery on both eyes. Today, Gus Gus is cherished in a loving home, finally experiencing the safety and comfort he never had before.

Millie
Millie was born outside to a feral mom in a trailer park. When she was found, she was alone, weak, and her eyes were sealed shut with infection. The illness left lasting scars on her corneas. Now, Millie lives in a loving home with her best friend, Mr. Fox. Though her vision will always be a little blurry, her world is full of comfort, safety, and love.

Bert
Bert was found abandoned in a box outside an apartment complex as a kitten, his lower jaw degloved and his skin torn away and hanging. We rushed him into emergency surgery to repair the damage and began the long road to healing. Today, Bert is safe, loved, and living his best life, sharing sunbeams and cozy naps with his cat and dog siblings.

Catman
Catman’s story is all too common. Surrendered to a city shelter through no fault of his own, he was afraid, labeled “aggressive” and placed on the euthanasia list. We rescued him just one day before his scheduled fate. After cryptorchid surgery and treatment for severe ear infections, We taught Catman to trust again and found him the family of his dreams.
